Murphy, OR — The Applegate Valley Rural Fire Protection District #9 is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has approved Resolution 2024/2025-2, expanding the district’s coverage to include 776 additional properties in the Murphy area. This expansion follows Oregon Revised Statute 478.702, which governs fire district boundary adjustments to improve community safety and emergency response. In the coming days, Applegate Fire will send official notifications to property owners in the newly included area. These letters will explain the expansion and provide information on property owners' options under the ORS 478.702 process. This move reflects our district’s commitment to delivering effective fire protection to all our residents. If you have questions that you would like to see included in a list of Frequently Asked Questions or addressed at the community meeting, please send them to admin@applegatefd.com We will do our best to reply to every inquiry.
